We really need folks to attend these trainings and volunteer in these positions for the shows. Being a color checker let's you get your hands in lots of lovely fleeces! Please consider attending.
The ABR Color Compliance class is expanding this year to include instruction and discussion on the positions and responsibilities of Ring Stewards and Gate Keepers.
These classes will prepare you for successfully fulfilling the tasks at hand. Being part of the show’s volunteer group is not only important to the show’s success, but also gives you a chance to see many alpacas up close while giving you insight into the show’s workings.
Sara Jane Maclennan, AOA Judge, will conduct the color compliance class in the morning from 9:00am to 12:00noon.
Color compliance will run from 9 until 12:00. Please plan to arrive at 8:30am so we can start on time. There is a minimum of 10 people required to run the class.
Attendees can bring dishes to compliment lunch and/or morning coffee. Lunch will run between 12:15 and 1 pm.
The class for Ring Stewards and Gate Keepers (who work together in tandem with the judge) will begin after lunch at 1:00 and run until 2:30.
Andy Riedel will conduct the Ring Steward portion of the class, and Peter Ziek will conduct the Gate Keeper class (both will be taught between 1:00pm and 2:30pm).
Classes will be conducted at Dundee Farm in Sedalia, Colorado. Class size will be limited to 20 people.
