New Location: The Ranch

Alpaca Breeders of the Rockies are proud to announce a new location for Fall Festival 2007: The Ranch, Larimer County Fairgrounds and Events Complex. We now have room to grow! We have expanded our show, added more judges and finally we can offer each participant as many stall spaces as they want or need. New to the event is the Alpaca Spin-Off as well as the Holiday Bazaar and our Fiber Arts Competition.  Additions sure to benefit our participants, and please the public.

The Ranch is the official name of the Larimer County Fairgrounds and Events Complex. The Ranch-Way Feeds Arena and Pavilions opened in the fall of 2003. It consists of an indoor arena and two identical pavilions, East and West, which are connected to the arena. We will never need to walk outside again (in bad weather!) to reach classes in the arena. The arena is 76,000 square feet with the ring being 150' x 300'. The arena seats up 1,500 seats. Each pavilion is 40,000 square feet with approximately 38,000 square feet of concrete floor space and can accommodate up to 196 (10' x 10') stalls. The Ranch is located directly adjacent to I-25, just North of Highway 34, in Loveland, Colorado. Visibility of and access to the Ranch is excellent. To reach The Ranch, exit I-25 at Crossroads Blvd., Exit 259. Travel East 1 mile to Fairgrounds Avenue (County Road 5) and go North to the entrance. Hotels and restaurants are located within 1-2 miles of the Ranch.

Participants may now sign up for as many stall spaces as they need - no limits! Fill out your registrations now, first come/first served!

Fiber Arts Competition

It's that time again. This is a call for all Fiber Artists, amateur and professional, to show-off.

Visit the Fiber Arts Competition section of the Registration Forms page for full information.

Volunteers

Be a part of the show! We can't put on a show without the help of our volunteers. It's never too early or too late to jump in and help us make this a spectacular event. If you're interested in donating some of your time, contact Jane Haddock at 303-274-0873.

NEW FOR 2007: Mandatory Exhibitor Disclosure

Under the 2007 Show Division Handbook Rules, certain alpacas are automatically disqualified from competition and certain Exhibitors & Handlers are prohibited from personally showing in front of a Judge when a business or financial relationship exists between an AOBA Certified Judge and their customers.

Each year at contract renewal time, our Judges are required to disclose those alpacas, exhibitors and handlers who cannot be shown in their show ring when judging at an AOBA Certified show.

Beginning with the AOBA 2007 National Conference (May 16-20, 2007), Exhibitors will also be required to disclose business and financial relationships with Judges and be required to acknowledge animals entered into the competitions that are not allowed to show in front of certain Judges at each show they attend. Beginning with the AOBA National Conference, this disclosure will now be required from exhibitors during registration periods for all AOBA Certified Shows. This is being done to make sure Exhibitors understand the written rules and to eliminate confusion for Exhibitors & Handlers about which alpacas, Exhibitors & Handlers cannot walk into a Judge's show ring during competition.

Please take a moment to review the 2007 Show Division Handbook rules to familiarize yourself with the rules under which you or your alpaca would be disqualified from entering the show ring during AOBA Certified Show competitions.

Using your 2007 AOBA Show Division Handbook, please see Part 7. Halter Shows; Section 9. Rules for Exhibitors and Handlers, T. An alpaca is disqualified from competition if…. and U. An Exhibitor or Handler, including his/her immediate family….

Also, please review the following list of ABR Fall Festival Judges and their assignments:

Dawn Brooker – Huacaya Male & Female, Black thru Grey
Nard Mullen – Huacaya Male & Female, Indefinite & Multi, All Suri
Linda Hayes - Performance

Then complete the following form which is part of the Show’s Information Entry Form.
